When I'm having a bad day it makes me feel better and when I am having a good day, it's my cherry on top. Korean food is my comfort food, my meat and potatoes.
Kongnamulguk is an everyday Korean soup. It is super good, easy and simple, add a scoop of rice and eat it with kimchi on the side. (that is how I do it)
My mom made this soup for me every year on my birthday. Traditionally, Miyukguk is made on birthdays and for women who have just given birth.
"Miyuk is known to be rich in iodine and calcium and considered as food that helps lower cholesterol in your body."
I would add a scoop of rice to this one too, kimchi on the side. :)
Kimchi Jigae is another classic soup, my mom would slices of hotdogs instead of pork belly. My sister and I would fight over who had more pieces of hotdogs in their soup, to make sure we were even.
Of course, add rice if you want... :)
